Assalamualaikum and a good morning Dato’ Zuraidah Atan, Chairman of Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa, Board of Directors, Staffs and my fellow YSS Alumnis.

Alhamdullilah I have just finished attending one the biggest events hosted by the United Nations here at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, The UNA-USE Global Engagement Summit 2018, which recieved 1600 participants from various institutions and people from around the globe.

It was truely an honor, to be sitting in the seats of world leaders and diplomats when we were given the chance to attend the sessions in the General Assembly Hall and was a truely inspiring moment to initiate globalization for the younger generations of Malaysia.

The summit was focused based on the Issues and Actions taken upon major world issues. And not to forget, all these efforts were all guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals which were also the main focus of the whole summit.

I also got the chance to visit The Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations and also the Consulate of Malaysia. I was greeted by Mr Suhaimi Tajuddin, Minister of Chancery of Permanent Mission of Malaysia and also Mr Jeremiah, the Consulate General at the Consulate of Malaysia. We then had lunch together before I continued on with the conference. Great conversations discussing on Malaysia’s role in major world issues.

I got the chance to meet with MrJamil Ahmad, Deputy Director and Head of Inter-Governmental Affairs, UN Environment .Munira Khalif, U.S. Youth Observer to the United Nations . And also the Honorable Teta Banks, Chair, UNA-USA National Council.

All of this was with the support of Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa that supported my trip here to New York, and also acknowledged my presence in the US as an exchange student to gain such an international experience at these kind of conferences.

InshaAllah I shall gather all of what I gained from amazing speakers and panelists today to share with all of you soon. Thank you.
