Bala had privilege to represent Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) at the Malaysian Indian Youth Conclave (iYCON 2018) held at Dewan Tun Abdul Razak, Bank Rakyat. This event was officiated by Health Minister, YB Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam. As a special Guest, The Indian National Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi attended this event.
Shri Rahul Gandhi –
Well, a speech which encourages youths. As youths under a democratic country, we must have a mindset that “jumping into politics is not to promote ourselves”.
The youths must move towards a new way of thinking. Enough with the old school thinking where everything must be on the same tract. But don’t forget, the old people are our guide. We must have and seek the cooperation between the old person and us, young people.
Sometimes old people’s thinking are very visionary. Well, the old people are people who are thinking far away. Also there are young people whom we are looking at, he might be 20 years old only. But the way he/she thinks is like a wiser older person!
TRANSFORM YOURSELF! India is looking forward to young people of Malaysia to come and collaborate between both sides. This can be succeeded via exchange programmes, education or trade. There are many ways for the youths to come and collaborate so that both sides shall benefit.
India 🇮🇳 is looking forward to modernise their agriculture. Malaysians should take this opportunity to invest and to promote our modern technology to them so that we can sustain our trading and external collaborations
The young people should link themselves through technology. He cited a simple example. Imagine he snapped photo of his pet and posted in his twitter account, eventually the whole world knows already about his pet. The world is growing fast. People should transform themselves and embrace change.
He is such a cool and humble person. When someone called him Sir, he said don’t call me Sir, just Rahul!
Sri Balasubramaniyam Subramaniam
